India completed their 7th consecutive bilateral series win against Sri Lanka with their 6-wicket win in the 3rd ODI game of the 5-match series at Pallekele. Jasprit Bumrah‘s 5-wicket haul helped India in restricting Sri Lanka to just 217/9 but failures of to order reduced them to 61/4. However, MS Dhoni continued from where he left in the last game by batting along with Rohit Sharma. The pair put on an unbeaten 155 to help India register yet another win on this tour.

3 – The century stand between Rohit and Dhoni in this game is the 3rd 100-run stand between the pair in ODIs. They put on 117 against Pakistan in 2008 and 167 against Australia in 2013 previously.
4 – Bumrah’s four 4-wicket hauls in ODI cricket are the most for an Indian in first 19 ODIs. The 5-wicket haul in this game is his first in ODIs so far.
5 – Number of captains Sri Lanka have had in their last 7 International games against India. Angelo Mathews led them in the Champions Trophy game while Rangana Herath and Dinesh Chandimal in the Test series. Upul Tharanga and now Chamara Kapugedara have led the Lankans in the ODI series so far.

50.7 – Dinesh Chandimal’s strike rate during his 71-ball 36 is the 3rd lowest for a Sri Lankan in ODIs since 2010. (Min: 30 runs) Only Chamara Silva’s 72-ball 33 against Australia in 2010 and Kumar Sangakkara’s 96-ball 45 in CWC 2015 quarters against South Africa had lower S/R than Chandimal.
100 – This game is the 100th game as a player for MS Dhoni in ODI cricket. He has featured in a total of 299 ODI till now with 199 of them as a captain.
124* – Rohit Sharma’s 124 is now the 2nd highest score in ODIs by an Indian batting in the top 5 with none of the remaining four getting into the 20s. Highest is 153* by Sourav Ganguly against New Zealand in 1999.
9434 – MS Dhoni‘s ODI tally of 9434 runs for India is the 4th highest for any player. He went past Mohammad Azharuddin (9378) during this innings.
