Sri Lanka vs England 2018, ODI series – Approaching milestones

England will be touring Sri Lanka for the first time since 2014 and will be up against a much weaker opposition than the one they faced last time. The Sri Lanka players will be hoping to benefit of playing the No.1 ranked ODI team ahead of the next year’s World Cup. England, on the other hand, would be wanting to gain experience of playing on slow tracks which they could find at home in the World Cup as the tournament progresses.

All the approaching milestones for the players ahead of the Sri Lanka-England ODI series:

98 – Tom Curran has taken 98 wickets in List A cricket and needs two more wickets to complete 100. He took those wickets in only 64 List A matches. Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Pradeep also has taken exactly 98 wickets in List A cricket so far.

150 – Moeen Ali (149) is one wicket away from completing 150 scalps in List A cricket. Another England all-rounder Liam Dawson (143) needs seven more wickets for the same milestone.

497 – Number of wickets Lasith Malinga has taken in International cricket thus far. He needs three more wickets to become the 4th player with 500 International wickets for Sri Lanka.

1846 – Ben Stokes has scored 1846 runs in his ODI thus far. He needs 54 more runs to complete 2000 ODI runs and 169 more to complete 5000 runs in International cricket having amassed 4831 runs till now.

1962 – Jonny Bairstow needs 38 more runs to complete 2000 runs in ODI cricket. If Bairstow scores those 38 runs in his next innings, he will be the third fastest to reach the milestone among England players after Kevin Pietersen (45) and Johnathan Trott (47).

2991 – Runs Thisara Perera has amassed in his International career thus far. The all-rounder needs nine more runs to become the third Sri Lankan after Chaminda Vaas and Sanath Jayasuriya to score 3000 International runs and bag 200 wickets in International cricket.

6926 – Upul Tharanga needs 74 more runs to complete 7000 runs in the ODI format. He will be the eighth player to reach the milestone for Sri Lanka.

7849 – Runs Dinesh Chandimal has scored in his International career thus far. He needs 151 more runs to become the 11th Sri Lankan to score 8000 runs in the arena.

8961 – Adil Rashid needs 39 more runs to complete 9000 runs in professional career. Of the 8961 runs he scored thus far, he scored 6696 runs in the first-class format itself.

11866 – Runs Joe Root has scored across all International formats. He needs 134 more runs to complete 12000 runs in International cricket and 200 more to complete 5000 ODI runs.
