Stats: Youngest players to feature in an ICC tournament final

Shadab Khan became the youngest player in the Champions Trophy history to feature in the final game as he was a part of the Pakistan XI against India in the CT 2017 final at The Oval. He, in fact, became the youngest player to feature in any ICC ODI event final and the 2nd youngest in any final of the ICC tournaments.
Shadab, aged 18 years and 257 days, became the youngest to feature in a CT final breaking Yuvraj Singh’s record, who featured in CT 2000 final at the age of 18 years 308 days. In fact, Yuvraj had the top two youngest entries in the CT finals as he featured in the 2002 final as well at an age of 20 years 291 days.
In overall ICC events, only Mohammad Amir featured in a final ageing younger than Shabad. Amir was 17 years and 69 days old when he played the 2009 World Twenty20 final. The top three youngest players to feature in an ICC event final, Amir, Shahab and Yuvraj, all are featuring in the India-Pakistan Champions Trophy 2017 game.
Rohit Sharma, who also played this final, featured in the World Twenty20 2007 final at the age of 20 years and 147 days; the 9th youngest to feature in an ICC event final. Out of the 10 youngest players who have featured in an ICC tournament final, 7 are from Pakistan and 2 from India. Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya was the only other player on this list as he featured in 2012 World Twenty20 at a young age of 19 years and 3 days.
