The squad of the Punjab based franchise looks stronger than ever after the arrival of their 2014 hero, Glenn Maxwell. Their batting line up looks devastating in the presence of players like Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran. The opening duties will be handled by the tried and tested combination of Skipper KL Rahul and Universe Boss Chris Gayle.

Mayank Agarwal will be expected to come in at No. 3 to provide support to the innings. The No. 4 spot will be taken up by Glenn Maxwell who is expected to go all guns blazing against the opposition. The No. 5 and No. 6 spots are expected to be taken up by the local lad Mandeep Singh and young sensation Sarfaraz Khan after a fruitful Ranji season.

The finishing duties are expected to be taken up by the Karnataka player Krishnappa Gowtham who will also fill up the role of an all-rounder along with Glenn Maxwell. The wicket-keeping duties are expected to be taken up by the skipper himself.

Chris Jordan being a T20 specialist could come in ahead of Sheldon Cottrell. Assisting him and completing the pace trio will be the Bengal duo of Mohammad Shami and Ishan Porel. The Afghanistan prodigy Mujeeb Ur Rahman is expected to come in as a lone specialist spinner in the Playing XI.

Predicted Playing XI: KL Rahul (c & wk), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Glenn Maxwell, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chris Jordan, Mohammad Shami, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Ishan Porel.
