Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder will meet for the second time in final league match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 on Wednesday, January 25, at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
Both the teams after having placed in bottom half of the points table would now meet for the final time in this season. Interestingly both the first and last match of the league were played between these two teams.
Sydney Thunder would need a win to stay alive in the tournament as they are placed fifth in the table with six wins out of 13 games. Losing the final game means Thunder stand eliminated unless a miracle happens
Melbourne Stars, on the other hand, have three wins out of 13 games and they stand eliminated in the contest. They would look for a consolation win by spoil sporting Thunder in the last game.
