The third day of the T20 Blast in England has witnessed a lot of action. The teams from the South group, which weren’t involved in the competition on the first two days now have played at least a game. As many as eight games were played on this day. Daniel Christian’s 40-ball 113 was one of the biggest highlights on the day. He got to his century in just 37 balls.

Most of these games were high scoring ones which treated the fans with some great entertainment. At the end of the day, Worcestershire with 4 points are on the top of the table from the North group. It was Glamorgan from the South group who occupied the top spot. Here is how things progressed on the third day of the T20 Blast.

Worcestershire vs Warwickshire – North Group

After winning the toss, Warwickshire opted to bowl first. Worcestershire’s openers Martin Guptill and Joe Clark provided the side with a good start. Clarke scored 33 off just 14 balls. With the help of a 45 from Callum Ferguson and a 34 from Ross Whiteley, they put up a massive total of 192 runs on the board.

Although Warwickshire tried hard, they marginally fell short of the target. However, their efforts ensured that the game was a nail-biting one. Ed Pollock with a 9-ball 29 provided the side with the ideal start. Sam Hain with an impressive 70 off 44 took the team quite close. But, with no wickets in hand, the pressure was surmounting on Warwickshire as they fell short by 4 runs.

WORCS: 192/7 in 20 overs (M Guptill 51, C Ferguson 45, Brookes 2/28)

WARKS188/9 in 20 overs (Sam Hain 70, Ed Pollock 28, Patrick Brown 3/28)

Surrey vs Kent – South Group

This game was another close one. Kent won the toss and opted to bat first. Joe Denly was brilliant on the day with a brilliant 102 off 63 balls. Heino Kuhn scored 30 off 26 balls to complement him as they managed to score 173 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Pillans picked 3 wickets in the innings while Dernbach picked 2 wickets.

Kent started the chase well and was in the game right throughout. Rory Burns provided an impressive start to the innings with 39 runs off 21 balls. They were cruising along well and were 109/3 within 10 overs. They were the favourites to win the game but misery struck them as Joe Denly picked a hat-trick in the 13th over to get Kent back in the game. Although Ben Foakes was battling from one end, he didn’t get any support from the others as he remained not out on 75 as Surrey fell short by 6 runs.
