The Ferozeshah Kotla witnessed an absolute thriller as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went on to register a successful run chase off the penultimate ball. Earlier in the day, it was Captain Zaheer Khan who won the toss as Delhi Daredevils elected to bat first.

They made two changes in their playing XI from their last game as Mohammed Shami came in for Shahbaz Nadeem while Angelo Mathews was brought in for Corey Anderson. On the other hand, for KKR, Trent Boult made way for Coulter-Nile.

The Delhi Daredevils were off to a flier start as Sam Billings and Sanju Samson especially started taking out the KKR bowlers to the cleaners. Together, they combined for 53 runs within the first six overs. Billings was dismissed as soon as the power play got over.

Samson who was on a roll with the bat soon followed his partner. While Shreyas Iyer tried to increase the scoring rate, Karun Nair, on the other hand, failed to get going at all. His slow innings of 21(27) was a proof of his struggle at the crease.

However, some brilliant display of pinch hitting by Rishabh Pant who scored 38(16) in the end guided the Delhi total to 168/7 in their quota of 20 overs. Nathan Coulter-Nile was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/22.

The Kolkata Knight Riders continued their experimentation with the openers as Colin De Grandhomme was promoted to open with captain Gautam Gambhir. The move failed as Grandhomme was gone in the very first over.

Robin Uthappa and Gambhir got out in consecutive overs to leave KKR reeling at 21/3. From there on, Yusuf Pathan scored a fantastic half-century with 59 runs from 39 balls that had two sixes. As soon as he got out, wickets kept tumbling for KKR. However, on the other hand, Manish Pandey continued his atrocities with the bat as he made sure KKR crossed the target with one ball to spare. In his innings of 69(49)*, he hit three sixes.

The KKR camp was overjoyed after the victory. Zaheer Khan produced a clinical performance with the ball yet again as he got the wickets of both the openers. Chris Morris also bowled well while the rest of the bowlers were taken apart for runs. Manish Pandey has deservingly rewarded the man of the match.

Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game.
