Day 3 witnessed some gritty performances from players of both the sides. It was probably the first day where Bangladesh showed some eagerness to be competitive even if it was only during the third session. To start with, Bangladesh didn’t begin well. Tamim Iqbal got out in a horrendous way as he tested Umesh Yadav’s arm. Yadav then displayed his valour with the ball and bowled a magnificent spell. He also went on to pick the wicket of Mominul Haque.

The visitors were reduced to 64/3 in the first hour of play. They further lost Mahmudullah who failed to capitalise on a great start and was trapped in front of the stumps by Ishant Sharma. This left them reeling at 109/4 with the trail above 550 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan did well to stay at the crease and went on to score his maiden half century against India. While the Indian pacers made it difficult for the batsmen out there, Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim hung in there. Ravichandran Ashwin got his first wicket in the game with that of Shakib who tried to charge down the track ending up giving a catch to Yadav at mid on. He got out for 82 runs.

Sabbir Rahman was dismissed cheaply as he was trapped lbw by Ravindra Jadeja. India kept a firm upper hand in the game till the second session. Mushfiqur and Mehedi Hasan batted beautifully together as they compiled an unbeaten partnership of 87 runs. While Mushfiqur was batting at 81*, Mehedi was also not out after having scored a half century.

Bangalore were 322/6 at stumps on Day 3. Twitter was quite entertained with some splendid tweets. For the Indian camp, the positives were Umesh Yadav’s stern bowling along with Ishant. Jadeja and Ashwin did well too though they didn’t create a huge impact.

On the other hand, Bangladesh had a fruitful if not a brilliant day. Three half centuries were scored but Bangladesh are still more than 150 runs away from avoiding the follow-on. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:
