Twitter Reactions: Sushant Rajput bears the brunt of Dhoni’s failure against MI

India’s most successful captain MS Dhoni did not have the perfect start to IPL 2017. After managing to get 61 runs from 5 innings, critics were quick to pounce on him. Sourav Ganguly too was harsh on Dhoni saying that his record of just one half century in 10 years of international T20’s doesn’t reflect that he is a good T20 player.
Dhoni, who has an immaculate record in the IPL, quietly bided time. He was stripped of captaincy before the start of the season following a disastrous season last year. Steve Smith had come in as the captain and won the very first game of the season by virtue of a brilliant 84* against Mumbai Indians which prompted Harsh Goel to take an indirect jibe at Dhoni.
The most successful captain from India was having a tough time and was ‘anxious’ as his IPL coach Stephen Fleming conceded.
Sushant Singh Rajput, the man who played Dhoni in his biography, was quick to back the Indian wicketkeeper in such tumultuous times.
The fact that Dhoni is so harshly scrutinised shows his class &the standard he has set.

Dhoni showed glimpses of his old self in his magnificent knock of 61* against Sunrisers Hyderabad which culminated into a last ball victory with the winning runs coming off the former skipper’s bat. Rajput took to Twitter to give it back to his critics who had written off Mahi. He, through his tweet, took a jibe at Ganguly but didn’t mention his name but it was evident what he was trying to do.

His tweets caught the attention of some Sourav Ganguly fans. Taking a sly dig at the man under whom Dhoni debuted didn’t go down well with them.
RPS played their next game against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on Monday. Though RPS won the game by 3 runs, Dhoni didn’t get going and played a delivery off Jasprit Bumrah back onto his stumps for a shoddy 7 off 11 balls.
Ganguly fans quickly got even with Rajput by sending a barrage of tweets to troll the Bollywood actor:
