The second Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka is taking quite a few interesting turns. While Sri Lanka seemed to have a slight upper hand at the end of day-1, the balance shifted slightly now. However, neither of the teams have got a clear upper hand and are trying hard to assert their influence on the game.
Just after two days of play, the fourth innings is already on and the result of the match is sure to be out on the third day. Continuing batting from 60/3 on the day, Sri Lanka failed to put up a big total on the board. Even though they had an opportunity to take a first innings lead, the efforts fell short.
Kusal Perera, the hero of the first Test, failed to deliver this time around and could only put on 20 runs. At 97/6, the visitors seemed to be in a great deal of trouble. However, Niroshan Dickwella rose up to the occasion and played a quickfire knock. His 42 runs which came off 36 balls helped his team finish the innings at 154/10 in 37.4 overs.
Faf du Plessis battles alone for South Africa
In their second innings of the game, the Proteas had a miserable time. Only three of their batsmen managed to get to the double figures but none of them managed to play a standout innings. While Aiden Markram scored 18 runs, Hashim Amla put on a hard fought 32 runs.
Skipper Faf du Plessis was the lone warrior for the home team in the game. He was unbeaten on 50 off 70 balls as South Africa was bowled out for 128 runs in 44.3 overs. Suranga Lakmal was on fire and accounted for four wickets in the innings while Dhananjaya de Silva picked up three.
Yet again, at the close of play, Sri Lanka finished with a score of 60/2. Oshada Fernando and Kusal Mendis are the two men batting out there in the middle. Sri Lanka still needs another 137 runs to win the match but it won’t be easy for them on day-3. The first session of the play will be important. The fans of both the teams are still optimistic about their team winning the game.

Sri Lanka have bowled out South Africa for 128 in the second innings , need 197 to win the test and the series. Will be a difficult chase but if they do it ,will be one of the greatest overseas win by any team, definitely the biggest upset and most historic test series win #SAvSL

#SAvSL has been one of the best series of this decade, hands down. Shame there are only two tests, five wouldn’t be enough at this rate

Despite what happened in the first test , it is an uphill task for SL to chase down this target #SAvSL

The test match is firmly in the balance now with 137 runs and 8 wickets to go,
Although South Africa needs consistent wickets at all costs as one decent partnership or so will be enough for Sri Lanka to create history. #SAvSL
