Umesh Yadav is currently in England and has been an integral part of the team across all the three formats in the ongoing tour. His rejuvenated pace and bowing has reaped rewards and was also one of the best bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for his team. However, his latest tweet of wishing everyone Teacher’s Day has come under the scanner as the fans are trolling for his late message.
Umesh featured in the first Test of the five-match series against England which India lost only by 31 runs. Though the pace battery of the visitors fared exceptionally, he leaked runs and sometimes had no control over his line and length. The average show led to him being dropped from the next game and the subsequent ones as the fast bowler has been warming the bench now for close to a month.
Umesh’s late tweet
India celebrated the Teacher’s Day on September 5 as many of the Indian cricketers remembered their Gurus (teachers) on an auspicious occasion and thanked them for everything. But for some reason, Umesh took to his official Twitter handle in the early hours of Saturday and wished everyone almost three days late.
His message in Hindi for the followers was very thoughtful though. “Not just education… I would always be grateful to my teachers for teaching me many ways of life. Happy Teachers Day,” his tweet meant. While there should be no specific day to thanks your teachers who have played a crucial role in shaping your life, Twitterati found the other side of it and trolled the cricketer for his late.
Meanwhile, Umesh’s tour is virtually over now and he would be hoping to make the difference in the upcoming Windies series as he has been dropped from the Asia Cup squad which will begin on September 15.
Here’s his tweet:
सिर्फ़ शिक्षा ही नहीं … ज़िंदगी के कई मायने सिखाने के लिये मैं सदा अपने शिक्षकों का आभारी रहूँगा ! Happy teachers day 🙏🏻
