Virat Kohli quashes engagement rumors with Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli has gone on to quash rumors about the rumors of his engagement to Indian actress Anushka Sharma. This particular news has been doing the rounds in recent times given the fact that the duo has been spending more and more time together.

The relationship has been public and has also been extensively covered by the media in recent times, especially given the fact that Kohli had a dip in performances with the bat sometime previously. However, there were also subsequent rumors that the duo had called off their relationship.

What is worse is the fact that the media has also gone on to troll the Indian actress each time Kohli performed poorly with the bat. She was also on the receiving end of a substantial amount of flak following the 2014 Australian tour which ended in a terrible disaster as far as the Indians were concerned.

However, in recent times, the Indian skipper has been performing rather well, exceeding the expectations of one and all with some impressive batsmanship in the series he has featured in. The year 2016 saw him be the beneficiary of some impressive performances with the bat including two double centuries to his name, one of the few captains who has achieved this feat.

He has also seemingly grown into his role as India skipper in recent times, leading from the front and by example, something that has gotten the best out of his players in recent times. One certainly hopes that this trend will continue.
