After a war of words from both the competitive cricketing rivals, the hosts finally set things straight by getting the better of Australia in the fourth and final Test in Dharamsala to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.  The eight-wicket win came with incredible performances from all members of the team, especially the healthy contributions from the likes of KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav.

Once Team India clinched the series, and along with it the prestigious Border-Gavaskar trophy, former India opener Virender Sehwag decided to hosts his own list of awards for the two participating teams on his Twitter handle.

“Say hello to Viru Gharelu Awards! Yes, our favorite Twitter person came up with the following dubious honours and they are are simply hilarious.” Viru also had a few special nicknames for players from both India and Australia.

Pujara – Inverter

Jadeja – TulluPump

Stabilizer – L Rahul

Smith – Tubelight

Saha – Channi

Handscomb – Joon Kangi

Umesh – Sansi

Kohli – Holder

Ashwin, Rahane – Desert Cooler

Kuldeep – Exhaust

While the reason behind few of the nicknames are not clear, it can be easily assumed that KL Rahul is the stabilizer for stabilizing the Indian innings, Smith is a tube light for his ‘brain-fade’, Ashwin and Rahane and dessert coolers for their cool on-field demeanor.

Chasing 106 for a win, the hosts finished at 107 for two, losing the wickets of Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara. Opener KL Rahul (52 not out) and stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38 not out) remained unbeaten to take India home.

Earlier, when praises were pouring in from all quarters for Kuldeep Yadav, Virender Sehwag had a hilarious way of acknowledging the debutants 4-wicket haul.

“Is China ke maal ki lambi guarantee hai. India’s first ever Test Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav ,shaandaar firki le li Australia ki.”

With the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) all set to start in a week’s time, Viru fans can expect a lot of humor on the batsman’s Twitter account.
