AB de Villiers’ sudden retirement decision from the international cricket has shocked the cricketing fraternity and the fans are in disbelief. He recently played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and was in great form with the bat. Moreover, he had just made an international comeback for South Africa in all the formats of the game. The cricketing fraternity is now bowing down to one of the best cricketers in the world even as Virender Sehwag feels that international cricket will poorer without him.
De Villiers’ last international series was against Australia which was filled with controversy. He made his come back for the series against India which preceded it and looked in magnificent touch. He batted like a champion in the series which was dominated by the bowlers and played a couple of game-changing innings which were enough to beat the number 1 Test side in the world.
Sehwag’s tweet
Sehwag is known for his witty tweets on social media as he entertains his fans every now and then. But he was full of respect in his message for De Villiers and posted an image with him during his visit to India in 2015. He congratulated the South African on a fantastic career and wishes him all the luck in the world for his future endeavours.
“Congratulations @ABdeVilliers17, the most loved cricketer in the world, on a wonderful career. International cricket will be poorer without you, but you will continue to be celebrated by cricket fans around the world,” his tweet read. The cricketing world will surely miss the legendary cricketer even as he is most likely to play the T20 leagues across the world and especially IPL which is a good news for the Indian fans.
