Virender Sehwag leads life the way he played, says David Miller

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, throughout his career has played all three formats of the game in his own attacking way. He never hesitated to take on the bowlers whatever be the situation and that was one factor which made him stand out in the crowd. In the year 2015, the cricketer retired from the beautiful game of cricket but has been thoroughly entertaining off the field too.

Now the aggressive batsman is the director of cricket operations for the Kings XI Punjab and is looking forward to the tough task in hand. He would be looking to guide the Kings XI Punjab, who have never won the Indian Premier League, to success this year.

South African player and the fastest man to score a century in the IPL, David Miller says that Sehwag has been cool and calm in his job and the enormity of the task has not provoked the former great put pressure on his players.

The Proteas feels that there are a lot of things to learn from Sehwag who has asked the team to play fearless cricket. Also, the player who has been interacting with Sehwag a lot talks about the piece of advice that the legend has given the team.

Miller quoted the Hindustan Times “He has told us to enjoy the game and look past last season’s failure. We have been interacting a lot. There is a lot of positive vibe when he is around.”

When asked about his mentor’s strictness while doing his job, the left-handed batsman said that Sehwag is never strict and puts things in a very straightforward way.

“He is never strict. He leads his life like the way he played. Whatever he thinks he puts it on the table in a straightforward way. That’s the biggest thing to learn from him. Win or lose, one should always keep his spirits high”
