South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn celebrated his birthday in a distinguished manner on Monday. The Proteas cricketer, who turned 33 recently, took to social media and uploaded a video on his Instagram account that read, “Birthday dinner with the two biggest legends in Cardiff #inthezone @meshy26 @gentribelhorn #33yearsyoung”.
Steyn, in the past few months, has been hampered by injury issues and form issues. But he has now recovered fully and is ready to be back in the international arena. “I am very fit and raring to go,” said a rejuvenated Dale Steyn in a recent interview. It would be an interesting sight to see him bowl in tandem with the young Kagiso Rabada.
His aggression filled bowling and zesty celebrations are something which every fan likes to see. One of the most passionate cricketers to have played the game, he always likes to have a go at the batsman and plays with a never say die attitude.
During an 11-year period as a Test cricketer, the Phalaborwa born Steyn captured 406 wickets in 82 tests with best figures of 7-51, while remaining at or near the top of the ICC test bowling ranking since 2008. His strike-rate of 41.7 remains the best ever for a cricketer who has operated for a minimum of 10 000 deliveries or more.

In the One-Day format, Steyn has 175 wickets in 112 matches. His best figures are 6-39. His economy rate in ODIs is 4.86. He has played in 42 T20Is for South Africa and managed to get 58 wickets in the format. His best figures consist of 4-9.
