Darren Lehmann, the Australian coach has gone ahead and stated that it is certainly important not to get too far ahead of themselves following their thumping win over India in the first Test match in Pune. This eventually was also something that saw the Aussies claim their first win in the subcontinent conditions in quite some time. In addition, the fact of the matter was also that the wicket was quite diabolical to say the least.

The Aussies secured a massive 333-run win against India in the first Test match of the four match Test series at Pune. While it was quite clearly Steve O’Keefe who stole the show, many from both sides including Kim Hughes and Shane Warne lashed out at the wicket as it was quite clearly one of those massively turning wickets. The diabolical nature of the wicket caught the eye of one and all and it remains to be seen whether or not a complaint would be launched against the wicket or not.

However, despite all of this, Lehamnn remains skeptical while there is now certain proof that the Aussies can indeed play spin and play spin quite effectively as well. “We’re not getting too far ahead of ourselves. India are a quality side, especially at home I think that’s the first Test they’ve lost in 20 Test matches so they’ll come back pretty hard”, Lehmann said after the Pune win.

The second Test match of the series now moves to Bengaluru which has not seen much cricket in recent times in terms of the longer format. However, this is expected to be a better wicket to bat on as opposed to the one in Pune.
