The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) celebrated their win over the Chennai Super Kings by singing a victory song in the dressing room. The Kane Williamson-led side had lost their first two encounters against Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. The whole team assembled in the dressing room after they got their first points on the points table, defeating CSK by eight wickets.

SRH restricted CSK to a low score of 154, picking up seven wickets by the time the innings came to an end. In reply, they chased down the score in the 18th over, with 14 balls to spare as their opener Abhishek Sharma scored a 50-ball 75 followed by Rahul Tripathi’s unbeaten 15-ball 39.

SRH were struggling before their comfortable victory over CSK, handing them their fourth loss in a row. Before the win, SRH were placed last on the points table. But after the win, they jumped to the eighth spot, above Mumbai and Chennai.

SRH enjoy their win over CSK with a victory

Coming back to their victory song, the whole SRH squad was delighted after the win as they sung the song celebrating the win. “Oh we’re from Hyderabad, a fighting fury we’re from Hyderabad, in any match, you’ll see us with a grin, bowling quicks and spins, if we’re behind, then never mind, we’ll fight and fight and win.

Oh, we’re from Hyderabad, we’ll never weaken till the final wickets gone, like SunRisers of old, we’re strong and we’re bold. For we’re from Hydera… Orange and Black, Oh we’re from Hyderabad,” the lyrics of the song read as SRH’s official Twitter handle captioned the post saying- Sound performance on the field, Loud celebrations off the field.

As far as the game is concerned, skipper Kane Willamson’s contribution was worthy, but what caught everyone’s attention was youngster Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi’s batting. CSK continue their winless streak in the tournament whereas SRH will now work on continuing their winning momentum into their next game.

SRH will face the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in their next assignment, in the 21st match of the IPL 2022 on April 11, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
