'What you have done for me in the last 5 days is something I will remember for life' - Sourav Ganguly expresses gratitude to his childhood friend Joydeep

The cricket fraternity can finally heave a sigh of relief as after spending six days in hospital, former Indian captain and current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly returned to his home and is doing well. The veteran was admitted to Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday after he had complained of chest pain and dizziness while exercising in the gym.

The BCCI president had suffered a mild cardiac arrest and had undergone angioplasty after the doctors found blockages in his three coronary arteries. However, Ganguly is finally discharged from the hospital and the doctors will be keeping a close watch on veteran’s health.

After getting discharged, Sourav Ganguly took to his official Instagram handle to express his gratitude towards his friend Joydeep for always being there with him and helping him survive one of the most difficult phases of his life.

“What u have done for me in the last 5 days is something I will remember for life ..have known U for 40 yrs now ..and it’s gone beyond just family,” Ganguly wrote on Instagram.

Sourav Ganguly thanks the doctors at Woodlands Hospital

While interacting with the media earlier today, the former Indian captain thanked the doctors and staff at Woodlands hospital for taking great care of him. Sourav Ganguly was also grateful for all the good wishes he received from all across the globe after the news of his health had surfaced on social media.

“I thank the doctors at the hospital for the treatment. I am absolutely fine, hopefully, I will be ready to fly soon. Firstly, I thank everyone for their well wishes. Especially the doctors at the Woodlands Hospital. I thank them for taking care of me. They say we come to the hospital to get our lives back, and it’s really has been that,” Sourav Ganguly said.

The Managing Director (MD) and CEO of Woodlands Hospital, Dr. Rupali Basu assured that Ganguly is fine now and can continue with his routine work in the next 3-4 days. The doctor further stated that the BCCI president doesn’t require surgery as he is quite young in age.
