As a result of their 5-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore are mathematically out of contention for the playoffs in IPL 2017. Chasing a maiden title, Virat Kohli led RCB had a forgetful season, failing to click as a unit. Mumbai Indians, by virtue of their smart win against RCB at home, are now at the top of the table and look a certainty to qualify ahead.

Rohit Sharma saw his side home with an unbeaten 56 and was awarded the Man of the Match award. RCB, on the other hand, are at the second last spot on the points table with just 2 wins in 11 games. They have three inconsequential league games left to be played against Kings XI Punjab and KKR at home and Delhi Daredevils away.

Skipper Kohli hasn’t had a great tournament himself. An average of 34 and strike rate of 124.47 in 7 games might sound decent but they are lower than the lofty standards set by the Indian captain. He knew, from the first, that he had to carry his team off the mire all by himself as Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers were struggling, but it was not to be.

Kohli shares a deep bond with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. In a recent picture posted by the Indian captain on his Instagram account, Kohli is holding Hinaya – daughter of Harbhajan and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra.

In the adorable picture Baby Hinaya was feeling uncle Kohli’s ‘trendy’ beard. He captioned the picture as: “Baby hinaya looking for something in my beard. And iam surprised how can someone be so beautiful and cuteee. What a blessing to @harbhajan3 @geetabasra . God bless you all”.

Time away from the gruelling and disappointing IPL season will help Kohli cheer up and get ready for sterner battles ahead. The RCB captain, though, will look to win the rest of the three games left in the season even if they are all irrelevant.
