After facing a second defeat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup in their last outing against England, Mithali Raj and her troops are all set to lock horns with the tournament favorites Australia in the 18th match of the event on March 19, 2022, at Eden Park in Auckland. Team India has had a mixed run in the World cup so far with two wins and two losses. While the team comfortably defeated Pakistan and West Indies, they ended up on the losing side against hosts New Zealand and England.

On the other hand, Meg Lanning and her Aussie side have played four matches in the World Cup and tasted success on all four occasions. Interestingly, Australia has also played all their four matches in this tournament against the same opponents as that of India so far.

Team India in their last match got bundled out for just 134 runs against the English side with Charlotte Dean picking four wickets. The Women in Blue lost the encounter by four wickets in Mount Maunganui. The Aussies clinched a comfortable seven-wicket victory against West Indies in their last game.

The six-time World Cup Champions Australia will look to win the fifth consecutive match in the tournament to keep their winning streak going and move a step further for that semi-final spot. The Aussies will also hope to take revenge from India for the famous 2017 WC semi-final where Harmanpreet Kaur struck an unbelievable unbeaten 171 runs. Mithali Raj and her team would hope to seek momentum by winning the third match after a 50-50 start to their campaign.
