Chat shows are where celebrities often reveal their jovial sides and inside stories. And that’s what happened when Yuvraj Singh recently appeared in a show hosted by Gaurav Kapur. The man, fondly remembered for his six sixes, opened up about former teammates.

In reply to Zaheer Khan’s taunt on Yuvraj’s bad cooking skills, the king of comebacks said that Zaheer shouldn’t make such claims as he has often eaten omelets made by him (Yuvi). He further revealed that on the field, the former Indian pacer and now the captain of Delhi Daredevils, Zaheer is the laziest of all.

Yuvraj, who won the man of the series in the 2011 World Cup, also spoke about life after being diagnosed with cancer. “I can’t really explain it because it is something which is unheard of. It was very hard to digest. To win the World Cup and be the Man of the Series, that’s like peaking in your career. And then you realize that you have been diagnosed with cancer.”

Talking about how it changed him in particular, he said, “It actually humbles you. It makes you realize that anything can happen in life. You got to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. ”

When asked how marriage has changed him, he said he doesn’t party anymore.  “Age, time, marriage. Basically, marriage. I think with time, we have evolved,”

Light-heartedly, in good humor, he also went on to say that Hazel Keech, his longtime girlfriend turned wife, is the sole bowler at home who keeps bowling unexpected bouncers at him!

Yuvraj Singh smashed 62 off 27 balls in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s opener against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The form that he is in, is reminiscent of Yuvraj in his heydays and looks like he may end up as the highest run-getter this season.
