The second One-Day International may not have gone the way of the visitors, but the game witnessed a couple of hilarious moments which left everyone in splits. While the guy proposing a girl sitting with him in the stands garnered a lot of attention in the first innings, Yuzvendra Chahal also did his bit to entertain the crowd which was bored in the latter part of India’s chase.

England were all over the visitors after scaping Virat Kohli’s wicket n the 27th over. The runs were hard to come by on a slow pitch and even the likes of MS Dhoni struggled to score runs. The spinners, Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali, bowled extremely well and tied him down when the runs were needed in quick time for India. The proceedings were so dull that the crowd also booed the great man.

Chahal’s entertaining knock

However, MS Dhoni got out in the 47th over after trying to heave Liam Plunkett out of the ground. The wickets followed to bring Yuzvendra Chahal to the middle. England were hoping to bundle out India soon but he had different ideas. Chahal played a glorious straight-drive off David Willey in the 48th over and hilariously raised his bat towards the dressing room.

It was a half-volley and he didn’t hold back. However, his actions after playing the shot left everyone in the splits. Even his teammates sitting in the balcony of Lord’s were laughing out loud. The moment entertained the fans who were left doing nothing but wait for the game to end.

Eventually, Chahal was dismissed off the last ball of the 50th over as the Men in Blue were thrashed by 86 runs. It was a comprehensive performance from the hosts as the series now moves into the decider much like the T20Is. The fans will be expecting a humdinger of an encounter at Headingley.
