The young Shubhman Gill definitely makes a case for himself to feature in India’s playing XI in the 2nd ODI against England. Gill has managed to impress the who’s who of the cricket fraternity with his temperament and character in the longest format of the game and is considered as a promising and bright prospect of the future of the Indian cricket team.

The 21-year-old had made his ODI debut for India in 2019 against New Zealand in the fourth ODI of the five-match series. Batting at number 3, Shubman had an ordinary start as he could score only 9 runs. Since then, Gill has featured in just two more ODIs. In the total 3 ODIs he has played so far, the batsman has 49 runs to his name at an average of 16.3.

Though the youngster has excellent List-A records with a whopping 2336 runs in just 59 games at an average of 44.9, the chances of him getting selected ahead of Rishabh Pant or Suryalumar Kumar are slim as he has very little experience of playing in the middle-order as compared to the other two batsmen.
