The PSL players draft has been a hard fought one this time, unlike the previous season where franchises opted to play it safe with their purchases. Several exciting overseas players like Eoin Morgan and Tillakaratne Dilshan have decided to become a part of the cricket carnival this time which will no doubt ensure a run-fest unlike the mundane games last season.

Batsmen dominate the rooster in the shortest format of the game and the Pakistan Super League will also be graced by some of the biggest names in T20 cricket world. Let us take a look at the 5 batsmen who can make a huge difference in the PSL 2017-

1. Chris Gayle (Karachi Kings)

The 37-year-old marauding Jamaican has the ability to make a big difference in a couple of overs. His T20I century in the 2007 World T20 in the inaugural clash against South Africa left spectators enthralled and bowlers petrified. Gayle’s ability to smash the ball into the stands with utter disdain makes him a fan-favourite in any T20 league around the world.

The charismatic assassin has scored 18 centuries so far in T20 cricket which is 11 more than Brendon McCullum who enjoys a fearsome reputation himself. Gayle scored the first ever double century in 50 overs World Cup history against Zimbabwe earning the title of being the only player who has smashed a triple hundred in Tests, a double hundred in ODIs and a hundred in Twenty20 Internationals.

The Karachi Kings will be hoping for a better performance from him after he scored just 103 runs in 5 matches for the Lahore Qalandars. The West Indian has the ability to set the stands on fire with his sublime performances and emerge as a leader for the Kings at the top of the order.
