The IPL 2018 is arguably the most awaited IPL so far. The teams have never been chopped and changed so much since the inception of the game. The auction took place on 27th and 28th of last month. All teams seemed to be satisfied with their picks, even though there are some obvious loopholes in certain areas.

The Pakistani players have been banned from IPL after the terrorist attacks which took place in Mumbai in November of 2008. Several stars of the Pakistan side back then featured in the 2008 IPL season like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar and Kamran Akmal, to name a few. This was the first and last season of the IPL in which the hostile neighbors took part.

1. Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali has been a revelation for Pakistan in the last few years. The 24-year-old made his international debut for Pakistan in August 2016 in an ODI match and he hasn’t looked back since. His most successful tournament has been Champions Trophy 2017. Pakistan went on to win the tournament with Ali named a player of the series after taking thirteen wickets. He is the quickest bowler for Pakistan to take 50 wickets in ODIs. Due to his age and good performances, Ali has been often compared to his Indian counterpart Jasprit Bumrah.

The medium fast bowler has represented Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL and Comilla Victorians in the BPL. In 2017, he took the most wickets in ODIs by any bowler, with 45 dismissals and was named the PCB’s Emerging Player of the Year. He finished 2017 as the top-ranked fast bowler in the ICC Player Rankings in ODI cricket. The ICC also named him as the Emerging Cricketer of the Year.
