Another batsman who had a magnificent IPL 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates, KL Rahul is the most likely candidate to take Virat Kohli’s number four position if the Indian skipper returns home. The Karnataka-born player is in the form of his life right now.

He had played an instrumental role in India’s 5-0 T20I series win over New Zealand. Rahul followed that up with some phenomenal performances as a middle-order batsman in the ODIs. The right-handed batsman is the number one contender to win the Orange Cap in the IPL 2020.

Speaking of his numbers in Test cricket, Rahul had made his debut against Australia at MCG in 2014. He has played 60 Test innings, amassing 2006 runs at an average of 34.59. It is noteworthy that the 28-year-old has not played a single inning at number 4 for India in Tests. Still, his form makes him a top candidate to replace Kohli.
