Ryan is considered to be one of the finest players from non-test playing nations. The cricketer was the pioneer of Netherlands cricket, as he contributed immensely to that nation by representing them in two 50-over World Cup. He played 46 games in which he scored 1,800 runs. Along with his batting skills, Doeschate was valuable with his bowling, as he has scalped 68 international wickets.

The Netherlands cricketer was also the first player from the associate nation who got picked in the IPL, and he represented KKR in 29 games. Ryan is a great example of an underdog who never gives up. He has traded his services all around the world, as he has been playing various T20 leagues including the first edition of Afghanistan Premier League (APL). Afghanistan always needed a finisher in their line-up and that’s why they would have loved to have a player like Ryan.

In recent times Afghan cricket has been achieving new heights with their top-order batsmen and spinners but they never had a good player in their middle-order. Doeschate can be a valuable asset for the Asian team as he is a recognized all-rounder who can bat in middle overs and his medium-fast bowling would have been a boon for them. If Ryan would have played for Afghanistan, the team would have benefited immensely, as he the experience of playing against big nations.
