Bangladesh will take part in a two-match Test series in the West Indies which starts on July 4. The first Test will be played in Antigua followed by a match at the iconic Kingston, Jamaica. Thereafter, they will play in a three-match ODI series and three T20 Internationals. Prior to the international affairs, they will also warm up with a two-day practice match in Antigua.

Meanwhile, the team may include a couple of new names for the Tests. Fast bowler Abu Jayed Chowdhury and Yeasin Arafat may be drafted into the squad as per reports in CricBuzz. Jayed has previously represented the national team in T20Is. He made his debut back in February this year versus Sri Lanka. The pacer, recently, took part in the three-game affair against Afghanistan as well.

He played a couple of games in Dehradun and didn’t quite deliver the goods. In the series, he bowled seven overs and conceded 61 runs while managing only 3 wickets. On the contrary, Arafat hasn’t played any cricket for the national team. He has an experience of four first-class and five List A matches in which he has notched 16 and 10 wickets respectively.

Not such a happy phase for Bangladesh

Bangladesh haven’t had the most auspicious times lately. In their erstwhile series versus Afghanistan, they were beaten black and blue. Their bowlers faltered and their batsmen were unable to survive the heat of the likes of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Prior to that, they played in the Nidahas triangular T20I series involving India and Sri Lanka.

The team impressed with the brand of cricket they played. They qualified for the final and lost the match to India. However, they were greeted with some flak by the people for their antics on the pitch apart from cricket. They resorted to a certain Naagin Dance, which somewhat disgusted people.
