Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian national cricket team, had some words of motivation for the citizens of the country in the coronavirus pandemic. He dropped a video on Twitter where he urged everyone to follow the rules and regulations laid down by the government of India.

Recently, the lockdown in India has been extended from April 14 to May 3 after the COVID-19 cases and the death tolls aren’t showing signs of slowing down. Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 14 to announce the lockdown extension.

To make the people aware of the importance of staying safe, Shastri put the video. He captioned it and wrote, “Today the Covid-19 has put us in a situation where we got our backs to the wall,”

Guys we can win this: Ravi Shastri

Shastri mentioned that winning against the coronavirus pandemic is somewhat equivalent to winning the prestigious World Cup. He said that one has to obey the orders from the top management in the situation of crisis by maintaining social distancing and not going outdoors.

“To combat this coronavirus is like chasing a World Cup where you give your everything in trying to win it. What’s staring you at the face is no ordinary World Cup. This is the mother of all World Cups where not just eleven are playing but 1.4 (1.3) billion are in the playing arena and competing,” Shastri said.

Shastri admitted that the road to glory won’t be easy by any means. But he sounded confident of fighting the ungodly virus with all the spirit.  In India, over 11,400 people have been affected by the COVID-19, which has accounted for the lives of 377.

“Guys we can win this. For that, we have to observe the basics. You have got your Prime Minister leading from the front ahead of the curve like other countries have farmed out,” the 1983 World Cup winning member, added.

“It is not easy but to win the game you got to go through the pain to break the chain and see the gain,” the veteran stated.
