The Indian Premier League 2024 season is just around the corner with just under two weeks left. This year the IPL will provide the chance for many players to get themselves ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup. MS Dhoni and Faf Du Plessis will lead Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore to kick off the season. The match is set to be played on the 22nd of March at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

As per speculations, this may be the final season in the league for MS Dhoni. The former Indian skipper will be leading Chennai for the 15th time and will want to bow out on a high. While the players are set to dazzle in the league, there are few players who will not be part of the league for the first few games.

Here are the top three players who will not be seen in a few games of IPL

3. Mohammed Shami – Gujarat Titans

India’s 33-year-old pace ace Mohammed Shami got an injury to his ankle while playing for the national side. After his exploits in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Shami hasn’t played cricket. The star pacer recently underwent a successful surgery in the UK which has ruled him out of IPL 2024 entirely.

Gujarat Titans will have to find an able replacement for Shami for the upcoming season. It will be a huge loss for the Titans and Shubman Gill in particular, who goes into the season without his pace ace.

Ever since his move to Gujarat Titans, the performance of Mohammed Shami has been on the rise. In 2022, the right-arm pacer picked 20 wickets to aid Gujarat Titans to the title win in their debut season. The next year, Mohammed Shami picked 28 wickets to lead his team to the finals. This was best best-ever performance in the entire 10 seasons of IPL played by Mohammed Shami.
