IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals’ strongest predicted playing XI against Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals’(RR) side are riding the wave of some blistering cricket to find themselves at the top of the table in IPL 2024. The likes of Trent Boult, Riyan Parag, and Yuzvendra Chahal have found form at the right time for the 2008 IPL winners.

Rajasthan Royals dominated Mumbai Indians earlier this week to win their third game of the campaign. On Saturday, they return to their home comforts in Jaipur to take on yet another struggling side.

Last year when RCB visited Jaipur they bowled out Rajasthan Royals for a paltry 59 runs. That performance played a crucial role in knocking RR out of contention for a place in the playoffs of IPL 2023.

Here is the probable playing XI for RR for the match against RCB in IPL 2024, Match 19: 

Openers – Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal

Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler has continued to see his IPL form flounder after an heady season in 2022. In the first three games of this campaign, the English white-ball skipper has scored a meager 35 runs. This run of form will have the Three Lions worried considering the T20 World Cup around the corner.

Yashasvi Jaiswal seems to be suffering from the same issues as his fellow opener Jos Buttler. India’s young batting hero has so far scored just 39 runs from three matches with 2 runs coming in the season opener against LSG. The Royals team will hope that Jaiswal can find his groove again and help the team get off to good starts like they were getting last year.

Middle-Order – Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, and Ravichandran Ashwin

One of the biggest plus points for Rajasthan Royals this season has been the form of their middle-order. Sanju Samson began with a swashbuckling fifty before a run of poor scores. Riyan Parag though has chosen the right time to show the world the amazing talent he possesses. With two fifties in two games, Riyan Parag has turned into a colossal match-winner.

Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel haven’t had much to do with the bat this year. The two stars will look to get some time in the middle in order to get a feel of proceedings. Ravichandran Ashwin has been a surprise promotion to number 5 in the batting order and the veteran star has done reasonably well. The 37-year-old though will look to improve his bowling stats this season as he has picked just a single wicket.

Bowlers – Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Sandeep Sharma

Left-arm pacer Trent Boult swung his team to a win with a brutal first spell against Mumbai Indians. The Kiwi pacer dismissed the top three of MI’s batting core to lend a huge dent to the host’s chances.Yuzvendra Chahal, has a huge point to prove not only to the selectors but also to his former side RCB.

The 33-year-old bowled well to pick 3/11 against MI in the previous encounter. The onus of death bowling has fallen on the shoulders of Avesh Khan and Sandeep Sharma and the bowlers have responded well. Royals’ will hope the two stars can continue in the same vein against a RCB side which is struggling for form and low on confidence.
