4. Sachin Tendulkar 200* (147 balls) vs South Africa in 2010

In 2010, Sachin Tendulkar, by hitting 200* runs off just 147 deliveries against South Africa in Gwalior, became the first player in ODIs to score a double ton.

Playing the second game of the three-match series against the Proteas in Gwalior, India came out to bat first after winning the toss. Losing an early wicket of Virender Sehwag at a score of 25, India didn’t get an ideal beginning in the match.

However, the Master Blaster, with his indomitable spirit, struck an amazing 194-run stand with Dinesh Karthik and scored his century too, off just 90 balls. Noticing things going India’s way, Tendulkar later became more aggressive and crossed the 150-run mark also in just 118 deliveries.

At the end of the innings, the Master Blaster created history by scoring a double hundred with 25 fours and three sixes. With his majestic innings, India posted 401 runs on the board, which later proved to be unscalable for the Proteas as they got folded for just 248. For his remarkable performance, Tendulkar also got the Player of the Match award.
