Gujarat Titans (GT) are all set to host Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in match 17 of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Gujarat will look to maintain the dominance in their backyard with a victory against Shikhar Dhawan and his men while Punjab, who have won only one game after their three contests, will endeavour to be disciplined in this game to return to the winning ways.

In the previous clash between the two, youngsters Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh pulled off a heist, leading PBKS to an emphatic win against the hosts. The duo played exceptional knocks to let PBKS cross over the line against Shubman Gill's men at Motera.

Speaking of PBKS, the franchise is as old as the league itself, but they are yet to win a title despite coming very close in 2014. Meanwhile, GT have been exceptional in both the seasons they've played, wherein they won their first edition in the league, and runners-up in 2023. However, there are a few notable names, who've represented both the franchises.

Here are three players who have played for both GT and PBKS:

The veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha is an essential part of Gujarat, and he has done a superb job as opener and stumper since 2022. The 39-year-old has scored 753 runs for the Titans in 31 matches at a strike rate of 127.41 with five fifties.

Back in the 2014 auction, Punjab reserved Saha’s services for INR 2.2 crore. Donning PBKS colours, he displayed his batting brilliance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He played an unbeaten 115-run knock off just 55 deliveries and became the first batter to notch up a century in the IPL finals.

Saha was associated with PBKS until 2017 and in those three years, he appeared in 62 games and amassed 1190 runs at a strike rate of 130.48. In the ongoing season, however, Saha is yet to showcase his best, having scored 78 runs in 5 innings so far.
