2. Wanindu Hasaranga

Back in the 2022 IPL auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) invested INR 10.75 crore in Wanindu Hasaranga and he delivered effective results, bagging 26 wickets in 16 games at an economy of 7.54 to end up as the leading wicket-taker of the 15th edition of the league.

In 2023, the leg-break bowler played eight matches and picked nine wickets at an economy of 8.90. Despite his shaky performance, it was expected that he will be be backed by their side. However, that did not happen as the RCB team management decided to free him and go with a heavy amount in the upcoming IPL auction.

Hasaranga has not played any match since August 2023 due to a hamstring injury. The Sri Lanka stalwart also failed to provide services to his national side in the 2023 World Cup played in India.
