Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to play their fourth home game of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The home side are in dire need of a win in the upcoming match as they have won just one game in this edition of the Indian Premier League. The fact that the match is being played at their home ground of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, they should have the upper hand prior to the game.

However, Faf du Plessis and his side cannot take the Sunrisers Hyderabad lightly given the form that the team is in. Sunrisers Hyderabad are sitting in fifth position with six points having won three out of their five games this season. Another win on the road would give their side a lot of confidence and would be hoping to derail the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s season even more.

Ahead of this epic clash between the two teams, let’s take a look at the three-player battles to watch out for tomorrow.

Here are the top three player battles for the RCB vs SRH for the 30th match of IPL 2024:

3. Faf du Plessis vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper had a poor start to the tournament with the bat as he was not able to register any big scores for the side. However, in the last game against the Mumbai Indians, he was the top-scorer for the franchise as he scored a valuable fifty while setting the total. The captain would be looking to score more runs in the upcoming game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad as well.

The right-handed batter’s first assignment would be to negate the threat of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the powerplay. The bowler is known to take wickets for fun in the powerplay and with the aggressive approach with which du Plessis bats, the pacer might be able to scalp the crucial wicket of the opposition skipper. This battle will decide which team will gain the early momentum at the start of the innings.

2. Travis Head vs Mohammed Siraj

Australian batter Travis Head is continuing his blistering run of form in the Indian Premier League as well. His intent to attack from the first over itself has been yielding a lot of results for the franchise. This approach of his has reduced the pressure on the middle order and has also given a lot of momentum to the innings.

The left-handed batter would be up against one of the best bowlers of Team India in the form of Mohammed Siraj. Even though the pacer has not been in the same form that he was known for but when he has the confidence and has the right rhythm, he can surely be the most lethal fast bowler. The speedster would be looking to get the wicket of Head early on and give his side the early wickets to put them slightly ahead in the tie.

It is once again that kind of season for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they have been overly dependent on Virat Kohli. The Team India batter has been leading the race for the orange cap this season with 313 runs across six innings in this season of the Indian Premier League. He had a rare failure against the Mumbai Indians but would be hoping to make a big one tomorrow against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The former Team India captain would be facing the Australian and Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins. The two have faced off against each other on various occasions and it is set to be a great battle between the greats once again. Famously, it was Pat Cummins who got the wicket of Virat Kohli in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Whoever dominates this battle tomorrow, would make sure that their side is on top by the end of the match.
