Harry Brook is a match-winner in his own right and he’s proved it already: Ian Bell

Arguably, one of the most anticipated Test series of all time The Ashes is finally set to begin on June 16, and both England as well as Australia have started preparation ahead of the epic series. English side is coming from a win against Ireland in the recently concluded one-off Test match while Australia on the other hand will certainly be high on confidence after winning their maiden World Test Championship.

Both the teams will be squaring off against each other in the first match of the series starting on June 16 at Edgbaston. Citing this the former English batter, Ian Bell has now come up with an interesting comment on England’s latest middle-order batting sensation, Harry Brook. Bell, who himself has won the prestigious Ashes Trophy on numerous occasions as a player, has high hopes from Brook as well as the England Team ahead of the marquee series.

As per reports, the 41 years old praised Brook for his wonderful technique as well as the wide range of shots which also allows him to be very aggressive adhering to sound movement and technique.  The former English Top order batter also added that there is no doubt about the 24 year’s old ability and talent. Bell also stated that Brook is a match-winner which he has proven time and again.

“In terms of ability and talent there’s no doubt, Harry is a match-winner in his own right and he’s proved it already. I really think we've got a serious player for the next 10 to 15 years. Harry is a match-winner in his own right and he’s proved it already,” said Bell as quoted by The Independent.

The former batter also pointed out that with the likes of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Strac, and Scott Boland in the Australian ranks, the English side needs someone with a solid technique for standing against them with some counter-attacking batting. 

Bell even had previously worked with Brook while the swashbuckling England player was associated with Hobart Hurricane in Australia’s Big Bash League. Brook failed miserably in that trip as he managed to score just 44 runs in seven innings but later on, the star English batter went on to score truckloads of runs in the following Pakistan Super League as well as a dominant season of county cricket. On the back of these performances, the Yorkshire-born cricketer even earned his cap for England’s Test team.
