T20 World Cup 2022: Complete list of commentators for the tournament

The mega event got underway with the game between Sri Lanka and Namibia on October 16.

The T20 World Cup 2022 commenced on Sunday (October 16) with Sri Lanka taking on Namibia in the qualifier stages in South Geelong in Australia. One of the catalysts to the tournament will be the commentary panel which has been sensational with their voices over the years. The ICC has announced a list of 29 commentators for the upcoming edition and it will feature recently retired cricketers along with the much-renowned names.  

The popular cricketers that parted ways with the game recently include Eoin Morgan, Preston Mommsen, Dale Steyn and Niall O'Brien and they have made it to the commentary panel. Notably, Morgan was the captain of the England side until he announced his retirement from international cricket in June 2022.  

Ravi Shastri who was with the Indian side as the head coach in the previous edition is back in the commentary panel this year. Shastri’s commentary during the maiden edition of the 2007 T20 World Cup earned a lot of fans around the globe, especially during Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes against England. The other Indian commentators on the list are Harsha Bhogle and Legendary Sunil Gavaskar. 

The female commentary has become a fascinating point about the game in recent times and ICC has included three names in the list. Isa Guha, Mel Jones and Natalie Germanos will have their voices heard as an action-packed entertainment is guaranteed this time in Australia. The famous voices like Danny Morrison, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock, Ian Bishop, Nasser Hussain, Pommie Mbangwa have all made it to the commentary panel.
