Despite losing the first match against the English team, Afghanistan's luck played in their favor as they had to share points with New Zealand, who are in outstanding form, and Ireland. On the other hand, Sri Lanka are coming from two losses against Australia and New Zealand after defeating Ireland in their first match. The Shanaka-led team are doing good despite their losses against the heavyweights, while Afghanistan have also given good competition to the English players.

Afghanistan will be eager to play against the Lankans as two of their 3 matches were washed out and they would love to register extra points on the table for themselves.
