In contrast to her former statements, Ex Cricket Tasmania employee Renee Ferguson has admitted that she had worked with her partner to run a Victorian pub at the time when she noted that she was unemployed. Ferguson earlier had claimed $900,000 for the mental fatigue she had to go through and for her unemployment during the time when she alleged that four of her colleagues had sexually harassed her.

Apart from the four colleagues, Tim Paine was also alleged of sending an unsolicited photograph of his genitals during the Ashes Tests in 2017 in Brisbane. The 37-year-old after the sexting scandal had subsequently stepped down as the Australian Test captain last year, however, he has still not been deprived of the allegations. Cricket Tasmania has been on Paine’s side on the matter against Ferguson and the two parties could not come to a settlement that took the matter into Court.

The matter was under serious investigation last month and Paine was asked to provide evidence in the Court as well. Cricket Tasmania noted that Ferguson did not submit the full conversation with Paine and added that the exchanges were made mutually from both sides. They provided the evidence as well and a hearing was placed on May 10 at the Federal Court with both the parties.

Ferguson reveals that she helped her partner run a pub from 2019 till last year

The parties are now waiting on a judgment by Justice Mordy Bromberg as Ferguson was cross-questioned for about 40 minutes to reveal if she had worked after December 2017 when she claimed as unemployed. Ferguson mentioned that she briefly worked at a hearing clinic after leaving Cricket Tasmania and post 2019 until last year, she had noted that she had helped her friend in a bar.

“I would help out on a needs basis … certainly not 4pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday nights,” she said, rejecting McTaggart’s suggestion she did regular bar work.

“Not on my own, no, I didn’t,” Asked by McTaggart if she ran the pub, Ferguson said.
