Former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy refrained himself from adding fuel to controversy as he denied to comment about Centurion Test incident. He also didn’t make any controversial comment about Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Healy’s controversial ‘losing respect for Kohli’ comment received ire from across the world. So after handing Australia a 75-run defeat, Kohli dug up a 20-year-old video where Ian Healy was seen pointing his bat towards some fan in Centurion as umpire wrongly gave him out.

However, Healy denied to talk about his Centurion Test incident, instead, he reckoned Virat Kohli as the best contemporary batsmen of the world.

“I have nothing more to add (to the controversy) other than that it would have been nice to hear from Virat when I stated that he was the best batsman I have ever seen,” the Australian said while reacting to Kohli’s comment as per the quotes on Mumbai Mirror.

Recently, Healy criticised Kohli after the Indian skipper got involved in a verbal duel with his Australian counterpart Steve Smith. The Indian skipper in reply to Healy’s comment said “We’ve got 1.2 billion people in India. One person doesn’t make a difference to my life.” After this, Kohli pointed out a video of 1997 Centurion Test where Healy was seen showing disagreement with umpire’s call while walking back to dressing room.

In Bengaluru Test, Australia failed to chase down 187 runs total in the fourth innings. It was a low scoring match but Australian lost the match. With Australia winning the first Test in Pune, so India was desperate to make a comeback in the series.

Kohli and his team were super aggressive to comeback in the series. He showed his anger when Smith was seeking suggestion of dressing room on the use of Decision Review System (DRS).

Healy was one of the controversial cricketers as he used to sledge opponent batsmen behind the stumps. The third Test of the series will be played in Ranchi and will start on March 16.
