Rishabh Pant came under scrutiny after some questionable calls as captain of the Delhi Capitals that saw his side knocked out of IPL 2022. Although Capital’s head coach Ricky Ponting has backed the young captain, Pant will be disappointed after his costly mistakes. The southpaw enjoyed a decent season with the bat scoring 340 runs at a strike above 150. He will be looking to put the disappointment of IPL 2022 behind him against South Africa.

Belonging to a rare breed of chinaman bowlers, Tabraiz Shamsi is a canny operator. The left-arm spinner is hard to play against and even harder to attack. The top-ranked bowler in T20Is has been really impressive in this format with his accuracy and deception. The South African was the joint highest wicket-taker in T20Is in 2021 with 36 wickets in 22 matches.

Pant is known for his big hits in the shortest format of the game and likes to take on the spinners from ball one. But Shamsi is even more dangerous when the batter is looking to attack him. The southpaw’s contribution will be vital for the Indian side in the latter stages of the innings.
