India to play 38 Tests, 42 ODIs, 61 T20Is in ICC's 2023-2027 FTP cycle

India finished as the finalists in the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship in the 2019-2021 cycle and now need to win all their remaining bilateral fixtures to find a place in the summit clash of the 2021-2023 cycle.

Meanwhile, as per the International Cricket Council’s new Future Tours Program cycle, the Indian team will be playing 20 Test matches. India’s new Future Tours Program cycle commences with an away two-match series against Bangladesh in December 2022.

Here’s all you need to know about ICC’s international cricketing schedule for India

During the 2023-2027 cycle, 12 full members of the ICC will be playing  173 Tests, 281 One Day Internationals, and  323 T20Is i.e. 777 international fixtures in total. It is to be noted that 694 international matches are being played in the ongoing cycle.

As for the next cycle, India will be hosting Australia in a four-match Test series in February-March in 2023 before visiting the West Indies and South Africa for two Test matches each. In the following year i.e. 2024, the Indian team will be hosting England, Bangladesh, and New Zealand and then visit Australia, eyeing a third straight Test series victory down under. In 2025, India will be hosting the West Indies and South Africa and touring England for a five-match Test series.

2026 will see India host Afghanistan in a one-off Test match and tour  Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Their 2023-27 cycle concludes with a home series against the Aussies.

As far as India’s current white-ball fixtures for this year are concerned, they will be playing three One Day Internationals against Zimbabwe starting August 18 after which they will be facing South Africa in a three-match home ODI series in September-October. After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, the Men in Blue are scheduled to play three away One Day Internationals each against Bangladesh and New Zealand respectively. Sri Lanka will be visiting India in December for five ODIs to wind up the year.

As far as the T20I fixtures are concerned, India’s next stop is the Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE which will be followed by three home T20I series each against Australia and South Africa in September and October and the final destination will be the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November.

In short, India are scheduled to play 27 One Day Internationals before the 2023 50-overs World Cup that they will be hosting in October-November next year. In total, the Indian team will be playing 44 Tests, 63 ODIs, and 76 T20 Internationals from August 18, 2022, to February 2027.
