A few years ago, when the news of a Kabbadi League emerged, there were several questions raised about it. In a country when cricket is adored and worshipped, people were very sceptical about the success of this league. But, the Indian audience proved everyone wrong and the Kabbadi League has garnered some great viewership.

The auction for the league is year was very heartening to see. Raider Monu Goyat was sold to the Haryana Steelers at a mammoth price of INR 1.51 crores. This price point was much higher than what it was for many famous and renowned cricketers from around the globe in the IPL auction. It is great to see Kabbadi as a sport grow and evolve into something big.

Here are the five big IPL guns who got lesser bids than Monu Goyat’s 1.51 crores:

1. Jason Roy | INR 1.50 Crores

The England opener, Jason Roy is known for his explosive batting. He has the ability to strike the ball long and hard and can tend to be absolutely brutal. This limited-overs specialist debuted in the IPL in the 10th season for Gujarat Lions. He has played 3 games back then and managed to create a very little impact.

However, the 27-year-old batsman was picked by the Delhi Daredevils this season. He was expected to play a big role but wasn’t as successful. Roy has played 5 games this year and has scored 120 runs. But, out of these 120, 91 came in a single innings which proved to be a match-winning one. Roy was sold for INR 1.50 crores this year, 1 lakh less than Monu Goyat.
