IPL 2018: Shikhar replies to congratulatory message by Ranveer Singh

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been in red-hot form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have romped to victories on nine occasions out of their eleven games and have subsequently become the first team to qualify for the playoffs. The franchise has displayed a collective show throughout their venture and that has been a primary reason for their domination in the league.

Yesterday, they played against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi and comprehensively won the contest by nine wickets. They also stayed put in their top spot of the points table. Kane Williamson lost the toss and the Sunrisers were sent to field by Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of the Daredevils. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise to start with for SRH.

Shakib Al Hasan pinned both their openers in Jason Roy and Prithvi Shaw and that put the cats amongst the pigeons in the Delhi camp. However, there was a storm in the form of Rishabh Pant, who went hell for leather and ripped the heart out the SRH bowlers with a whirlwind knock of 128 runs off 63 balls, which was carved with 15 boundaries and seven monstrous whacks into the stands.

Nevertheless, chasing 188 to win, the Sunrisers didn’t flounder and pocketed the match with seven balls to spare. Alex Hales was nipped out by Harshal Patel after which Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan blended caution with aggression and helped SRH breach the target with minimum fuss.

Following the triumph, Dhawan posted a picture on Instagram along with the skipper of the Sunrisers with a message which read

Ranveer Singh, the Bollywood actor who recently was seen in the movie Padmavat, dropped him a congratulatory message on the post. Dhawan was prompt to spot the message and he replied him in a graceful manner.
