It will be the South Indian Derby in the first match of the doubleheader on Sunday. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who have just registered a magnificent victory against the Rajasthan Royals, will play hosts to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Hyderabad track this year threw up a pleasant surprise to the fans as well as the players.

While usually it is a bowler-friendly track, there was a lot of assistance for the batsmen the other night. The SRH bowling line-up looked out of sorts in the last match and leaked a lot of runs. The management might bring one or two changes to this bowling line-up to fit into the conditions better.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Openers (David Warner, Jonny Bairstow)

It has been an absolute delight watching David Warner bat in this season. He is probably hitting the ball sweeter than ever and seems to be in an excellent frame of mind. The Australian cricketer is without the captaincy this year and that is helping him to play with a lot more freedom. Warner is currently the ‘Orange Cap’ holder and will play a crucial role in the next few games.

With Jonny Bairstow’s arrival, the SRH opening looks fierce and destructive. These two are very consistent with their run-scoring and are complementing each other well. Jonny is due for a big knock as he failed to make it big on both the instances this year. Against a weak RCB bowling line-up, he’d be eager to get to his first fifty of the IPL.

Middle Order (Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan)

Without Shakib Al Hasan in the eleven, Sunrisers don’t bat deep. Thus, there will be a lot of onus on the middle order batsmen. Kane Williamson looked good in the last game but his left shoulder is causing a slight concern. He didn’t seem to be at ease while fielding. However, the injury didn’t impact his batting much in the last game.

Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan will bat at five and six in the SRH line-up. Pandey has performed well in the domestic season but the way he played in the last game was disappointing. He failed to pick the line of the ball and was trapped in front of the wickets. Pathan has been in good form of late but we haven’t seen much of him as yet this season.

All Rounders (Vijay Shankar, Rashid Khan)

Vijay Shankar has been one of the best picks for SRH ever. The team has always had a history of struggling with its middle order. But Shankar is just fitting into his role beautifully. He can play both aggressive as well as calculated cricket. The all-rounder played a gem of a knock in the last match and it is a treat watching him hit sixes straight down the ground on the up.

There is no doubt about Rashid Khan’s ability with the ball. He delivers the necessary whenever the captain tosses up the ball to him. His requirement is more with the bat this season. Looking at their combinations, he will continue to bat at the crucial number seven position and has got to take the role of a finisher for the team.

Bowlers (Shahbaz Nadeem, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed)

It wasn’t easy for any of the bowlers in the last match and it is too early to get to a conclusion on Shahbaz Nadeem. He is one of the most consistent performers in the domestic circuit and will continue to feature in the eleven. However, it is the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar that is ringing alarm bells in the SRH camp. For two games in a row now, the pacer leaked a hell lot of runs in the final few overs.

In the last match, he gave away 45 runs in his last two overs and was completely ineffective. RCB has got a fierce batting line-up and he has got to deliver if SRH is to win the game. The Hyderabad franchise could play Khaleel Ahmed in the next game as he had a good Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. The left-arm pacer will replace Sandeep Sharma while Siddarth Kaul will continue to feature in the eleven.
