Mumbai Indians confirmed their place in the 1st qualifier following their huge 9-wicket victory against the Delhi Capitals. Trent Boult removed both the DC openers with his new-ball spell while Jasprit Bumrah wrenched the middle-overs with a 3-wicket haul. Delhi finished with only 110/9 in their 20 overs as none of their top seven batters even had a strike rate of 100. Mumbai team retained their top spot by chasing down the target in only 14.2 overs. Ishan Kishan continued his good batting form smashing an unbeaten 47-ball 72.

Milestone match for MI:

200Mumbai Indians, during DC vs MI, completed 200 appearances in the history of Indian Premier League. They have become the first team to feature in 200 matches in the history of the league. MI was also the first team to complete 100 victories as well.


Yet another big win for MI:

7 – Mumbai Indians now have won as many as seven IPL matches with five or more overs to spare in the IPL while chasing a target. These are the most such victories for any team in the league history surpassing RCB and RR who won six IPL matches apiece by chasing a target with 5 or more overs to spare.


MI breaks Dubai jinx:

1 – Mumbai Indians, during DC vs MI, registered their first-ever win in the IPL at the Dubai International Stadium. They lost all the three matches they played here in 2014 and went down in Super Over during both the games played at this venue earlier this season.


A low total for Delhi:

110/9 – The total of 110/9 by Delhi Capitals is now their lowest total in the IPL while batting full 20 overs. Their previous lowest was 114/5 against Chennai Super Kings in 2012 and also 114/8 against SRH in 2013.


Yet another duck for Dhawan:

3 – Number of ducks for Shikhar Dhawan in IPL 2020; the most he has bagged in an edition of IPL. No player in the history of T20 cricket bagged more than two ducks in a tournament/series where they scored more than one ton.

5 – Shikhar Dhawan now has been dismissed for a duck on five occasions in the IPL while playing for Delhi Daredevils/Capitals. Only Virender Sehwag (6) has more ducks in the IPL for Delhi franchise than Dhawan.


Back to back 3-fers for Bumrah:

1 – Jasprit Bumrah has picked up 3-wicket hauls in consecutive matches for the first time in his IPL career. This is also only the 2nd instance of Bumrah picking up three or more wickets in successive T20 games. He took a 3-fer in his IPL debut in 2013 coming on the back of a 3-fer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy final for Gujarat against Punjab.

13Jasprit Bumrah now has claimed 3 or more wickets in an IPL match on 13 instances; all of them for Mumbai Indians only. Only Lasith Malinga (19 for MI) has more 3-fer in the IPL for a team than Bumrah.


Pant @ 2000:

2010 – Rishabh Pant completed 2000 runs in the IPL when he went past his individual score of 11 during DC vs MI. He is now the 3rd player to reach 2000 IPL runs for Delhi franchise after Virender Sehwag (2174) and Shreyas Iyer (2095).
