Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals locked horns with each other for the first doubleheader of the UAE leg of the IPL. RR’s bowler exuded great control and domination to restrict DC to 154. However, something that grabbed the attention of the cricket on-lookers is how the final over of the first inning unfolded.

In the final over of the match between RR and DC, Ashwin made sure he steals two quick runs and makes most of the chaotic scene. Ashwin missed the ball from Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman but still ran towards the non-striker end with the aim of not allowing it to be a dot ball. Lalit Yadav was on the other end, and he assisted him well to complete the run.

However, wicketkeeper Sanju Samson threw the ball to Mustafizur Rahman in order to make an attempt to get Ashwin run-out. The Bangladesh speedster on the other hand threw the ball quite wide off the stumps after having collected it in a hurry, leading to an overthrow. Ashwin did not miss the opportunity and ran to get back to the strike.

Mustafizur Rahman bowled the final over of the match and did not allow any boundaries. He conceded singles and twos as the Delhi batters scored nine runs off the over. He completed his spell of four overs without conceding any boundary and that seemed to have impressed the cricketing fraternity and the on-lookers. The fans took it to Twitter to heap praises on Mustafizur Rahman for his spell and also made a note of the eventful last over.

Delhi Capitals had a dominating first leg of the IPL. They seemed to have resumed the proceedings from where they left it in the first half. The team registered a thumping victory against Hyderabad in their first match of the UAE leg of the IPL.

The Rishabh Pant-led side has also looked dominant in their match against Rajasthan Royals. Though the Royals restricted Delhi’s strong batting line-up to 154, their batters couldn’t provide enough resistance as they lost frequent wickets. As the race for the play-offs is already heated up, every game will be important for Rajasthan from here.
