Each year with every passing IPL edition, every franchise regardless of their performances undergoes through a small refurbishment to further strong-arm themselves for the upcoming season. Based on their strengths and weaknesses along with analyzing their voids, a franchise then starts to target and explore a set of players during the nearing IPL auctions.

Now prior to the 2021 IPL, last month at the auction table, once again the franchises have stacked a set of players as per their needs and will be looking for a lucrative IPL season. With a total of 57 players bagging an IPL ticket for the forthcoming edition, the fans now do have a blueprint of what can be expected from their favourite franchises.

At present, on paper, almost every team now does look to be a sublime contender for that final top four but in reality, as the teams will be exploring their various combinations, they will be certainly realizing their strongest and the weakest links. Therefore, let’s take a look at-

Strongest and weakest capped player of all teams in IPL

1. RCB: Strongest – AB de Villiers, Weakest – Navdeep Saini

Each year before the IPL starts, there’s a fresh sense of fortitude exhibited by the Bangalore franchise which ensures the RCB fans about achieving their first-ever IPL glory. But as we all know, with every passing season, the red army continues to endure themselves in disappointment. No doubt the team does carry two of the finest batters of this era, but when it comes to picking their strongest stallion then there’s hardly any doubt about ABD being that man.

Year after year since 2011, the former South African skipper has been a reliable pillar for RCB in their fitful batting order and since 2015, De Villiers can be regarded as their almost 500-run bank. In his previous season, ABD amassed a total of 454 runs scoring at an average of above 45. With a strike-rate of almost 159, a total of 33 fours and 23 sixes got powered from his bat. On his day, the man can dismantle any bowling attack and can win games for his team in a whip.

But when it comes to finding out their weakest link, unfortunately, someone like a Navdeep Saini who serves as their frontline pacer looks to be one enduring this stamp. The speedster in the IPL 2020 had a disappointing show where in his 13 matches he only scalped six wickets. With a side like RCB which often gets swayed because of their poor bowling, Saini’s inferiority apparently makes the bowling department look much more impaired. Even while representing the Indian team during the ODIs in the Australian tour, the pacer looked completely out of rhythm which eventually made him lose his place in the T20Is. Hence with his prolonged struggles in white-ball cricket, the RCB fans will be vigorously hoping Saini to have a good outing in the IPL 2021.
