The Indore-born batter, Rajat Patidar was brought in as a replacement player by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the injured Luvnith Sisodia. In his first game, he scored 16 but was terrific to hit 52 in the following game, and thereby cemented his place for the remaining games of the season.

The 28-year-old stabilized the innings and accelerated the run rate and displayed maturity as the season progressed. It was a whirlwind knock of 112* off 54 balls in the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which left a terrific impact to take the team to the next stage.

In Qualifier 2, Patidar was the top scorer for the team with 58 off 42 balls and ended the tournament on a high. In eight innings, the stylish batter garnered a total of 333 runs.
